Ashton Mill
Although no longer in use the mill was last used to generate electricity for the village.
Starting from St Peter’s Church in Oundle. Leaving the cemetery continue along the thoroughfare to TREK KITS at Oundle Wharf where they will ensure every one is equipped for the occasion (pilgrimage booklets on sale here too). A few metres from here the walk continues across the meadow to Ashton Green where participants obtain their first passport stamp and the chance of a coffee at the Chequered Skipper.
Leaving the village green, the walk gets seriously under way with greater distances ahead for the main Pilgrim walkers and cyclists; the family route continues along Station Road Bridge to the boat house on the opposite side to the new Trek-Kits location; it follows part of the river bank to Cotterstock and joins the byway to Ashton Estate. The cycle route shares some of the permissive trails with walkers as it follows the main pilgrimage along road and byway.
